Board of Selectmen Minutes of Meeting – Time 6:00 pm February 16, 2021
Call to Order Chairman Jennifer J.
Roux called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm with Scott E. Cudworth and William
J. Mageary in attendance. Karla B. Wilcox, Town Administrator and Joanne
Holland, Office Assistant were also in attendance. In
Attendance: Fire Chief Steve Guillemette, Jeff LeDuc, Gene Streck, and Skip Bartosch. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. PUBLIC MEETING - Warrant for Paper
Ballot Voting - Zoom Meeting Public meeting was
opened at 6:00 pm. Chairman Roux
reviewed each article and allowed for public comment. A motion was made by William
J. Mageary to close the meeting at 7:02 pm; seconded by Scott E. Cudworth. Motion carried. A
motion was made by Scott E. Cudworth to approve the minutes of February 9, 2021
as written; seconded by William J. Mageary. No further discussion. All in favor. Motion carried. Public Comment: No Public Comment. Unfinished Business: 1. Bid
Opening - Fire Department Forestry truck · Arundel

Vehicle $83,718 for 2021
F350 and $15,695 for the Skid Unit for a total price of the both being $99,413. 2. Skid Unit · Kimtek $15,325 · Industrial
Protection Services $16,394 · Southern
Maine Communications Service bid for rear pump battery wiring at $866.50, they also bid to provide and
install all emergency lighting, siren, radios, charging system and all related items in new Forestry truck, that bid is
$8,964.50. A summary will be created for further

4. Rescue Ambulance Bid Discussion Assistant
Chief Jeff LeDuc had made a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen regarding
the bids, the recommendation
was to accept the bid from Sugarloaf. Sugarloaf's
bid was for $225,211.00 with a $10,000.00 trade in (but was originally quoted
$15,000.00 for the trade in.) The Board of Selectmen recommended that we get
the original quoted amount of $15,000.00, The Town Administrator will contact
Pete Stuart at Sugarloaf to request that we receive the $15,000.00 trade in
with no other changes to the bid. With
the trade in at $15,000.00 the total bid of the new Rescue Ambulance would be
for $210,112.00. William J. Mageary had
asked if Sugarloaf's bid was with heavy duty suspension coils or if it was air
springs, Assistant Chief Lebuc stated that it was liquid springs. William J. Mageary asked what was available
for funds, as of 12/09/2020 there was $206,796.00; the Town Administrator will
follow-up with the Town Treasurer to obtain the current amount available. Scott E. Cudworth asked if this bid included
a new Stryker (Stretcher)? Assistant
Chief LeDuc stated that it was not included and the Stryker in the Ambulance
now is interchangeable and would be moved over to the new ambulance. Will discuss further at the next meeting. New
Business: A. Fire Hydrants Who is
responsible to plow out the Fire Hydrants? William J. Mageary, Scott E. Cudworth and Fire Chief Steve Guillemette
all stated that it is the Road Commissioners responsibility to plow around the
fire hydrants. The Town Administrator
will reach out to the Road Commissioners. B. Stop Sign and Graffiti on the road C. Transfer Station Price List D. O'Donnell's William J. Mageary asked if we were in track
with assessing being processed with O'Donnell's? Response was yes. This was mentioned because an invoice was
being processed for payment tonight. Our
O'Donnell's representative was in a serious car accident but O'Donnell's has
assigned another employee to the Shapleigh Assessing. Information: i. Planning

by William J. Mageary to adjourn at 7:56
