Help Wanted:  Transfer Station Part Time Site Disposal Fee Attendant:

Hours are:        Winter Hours (October – April) Wed, Sat and Sun 10 am – 4 pm             Summer Hours (May – September) Tues & Thurs 9 am – 4pm and Sat & Sun 8 am – 4 pm

Description:  The Town of Shapleigh is accepting applications for a Transfer Station Site Disposal Fee Attendant position at the Transfer Station.  This position includes weekend work.

Duties Include:  Employee is expected to perform a full range of duties, as assigned, with independence.  Collect disposal fees, check for valid Transfer Station Sticker, assist the public with disposing of their demo materials and recycling.  Must be able to lift 50lbs. 

Requirements & Preferred Experience:  The ideal candidate will have the ability to meet the physical demands of the job.   Excellent customer relations and communication skills, strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude a must, as well as the willingness to work independently and as a team. Be able to make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately. Prior Transfer Station experience is a plus but not required to apply for this position.  To download the Town's job application - click here

Help Wanted:  Shapleigh Rescue Squad is currently accepting applications for Per Diem EMT'S, AEMTs and Paramedics.  We are seeking qualified and experienced applicants to join our team to provide 24 hour EMS coverage to the Town of Shapleigh.  Shapleigh Rescue Squad is a progressive Rescue Department that provides emergency medical transport services, rehab at active fire and rescue scenes, water rescue and life safety education (CPR and First Aid).  Through the generous support of our local citizens and elected officials we are able to purchase and maintain modern diagnostic medical equipment and have recently placed an order for a new ambulance with an expect deliver of October 2021.  If you are interested in applying please review the job posting by  clicking here .

Such as:  Motor vehicle renewals, dog, hunting & fishing licenses and snowmobile registrations may be processed using the links below. Dog Licenses - SHAPLEIGH DOG OWNERS - 2021 DOG TAGS NOW AVAILABLE - Maine State Law requires each owner/keeper of a dog(s) at the age of six months or over be licensed in the Municipal Clerk’s office  in the Town where the dog is kept. You must provide a current rabies and spay/neuter certificates when licensing.

On-line dog licensing is available by visiting or via mail by telephoning 636-2843 ext. 1 or 6.      A $25.00 late fee will be applied as of June 3, 2021
