The Town Offices will re-open to the public the week of June
7, 2020 and will be back to our regular business hours. The Town Offices will adhere to social distancing
by allowing only 1 person at the Town Clerk’s office, one person in the hallway
at a time when needing information on Assessing, Treasurer, Land Use Secretary
and Town Administrator’s questions. Others will need to wait outside the building for their turn. Masks must
be worn at all times and if from another State, you must have quarantined for
14 days. CEO will maintain appointments or walk in’s
are welcomed as well. Only one person at
a time will be allowed in the code’s office. If you do not have a mask one can
be provided to you. Services will
continue to be done over the phone, online or by mail whenever possible.

Board of Selectmen Meeting has been cancelled for Tuesday, July 14th due to elections being held that day.
Committee Vacancies - The Town of Shapleigh has numerous vacancies on the various committees. If you have some "free" time and would love to get involved with your community please contact the Town Administrator at 636-2839, Ext 0. Committee vacancies are: Assessing Review Board, Capital Improvement Committee, Fair Hearing Authority, Recreation Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals, Budget Committee, Conservation Commission, Planning Board and Saco River Corridor Commission. Deadline will be Friday, July 17, 2020.
Comprehensive Plan Update Review Committee - The Board of Selectmen are seeking 7 community members to join the Comprehensive Plan Committee. The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to document the Town's commitment to achieve a vision. The Comp. Plan reflects a long range view of the future issues and opportunities. The adopted plan is used by citizens, elected officials, town committees,business investors, and others. Term of the appointment will be upon completion of the revised plan. Checks for Real Estate tax payments may be deposited in
the mail slot in the right front door or by phoning to make other arrangements.
ATTENTION BOATERS - As of Friday, May 1, 2020 all motorized watercraft on Maine waters must have a vailid registration. In addition, all motorized watercraft on inland waters must display the lake and river protection sticker. NOTE: There is a delay in getting stickers out. In the meantime a printed copy of payment confirmation is acceptable. If you are unable to print a copy, take a picture with your phone to keep on hand. To renew your boat registration online, visit: https://www5.informe.org/online/boat/ Owners of non-Maine registered boats are required to purchase and affix a lake and river protection sticker to their watercraft. NOTE: stickers are included as part of the Maine watercraft registration fee. Boats registered in Maine do not need to purchase a separate sticker. You may request an absentee ballot by calling the Town
Clerk’s office 636-2843 ext. 1 or 6 or by visiting the State’s website
Absentee Ballots will be available around June 14th. Absentee Ballot requests will be taken
up to and on Election Day.
To minimize interaction with others during this public
Pandemic (COVID-19), some voters may prefer voting by
Absentee ballot. Casting an absentee ballot is
convenient and secure.
